In the education sector, there are 4 major stakeholders and they are the government (public or private), teachers, parents and students. The government is the most powerful while the students are the most important.
Corporate organizations and individuals involved in the education sector must be able to identify where they want to focus on. As much as these 4 major stakeholders have points of intersection, they can also be treated exclusively.
The government is the most difficultly influenced, next are the teachers and this is because they are largely under the armpit of the presiding government, so there is little that can be done on them directly. However, there are still ways of entering into that sphere to cause change. For example, Teach For Nigeria (TFN) focuses on teachers in a very unique way that has produced a lot of impact.
Parents have the least influence in the education world while students are the ones that can be influenced the most and that's why I think more people should explore that end.
In all, none can stand in itself. The 4 must be adequately influenced correctly to bring about the desired change.
